Senior Software Engineer (Golang)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Golang): Building core backend systems for the AV1 robot to facilitate real-time communication between robots, mobile apps, and web clients with an accent on high-performance APIs, distributed systems, and real-time data streams. Focus on designing resilient event-driven services, optimizing data models for scale, and implementing secure WebRTC and gRPC communication.

Location: Oslo, Norway. Hybrid (approx. 2 days/week in-office). Must be based in Norway or relocating from within the EU/EEA (with no need for additional work permit).

What you will do

• Design and implement backend APIs and shared modules in Golang for robots, mobile apps, and web clients.
• Configure communication paradigms using WebRTC, gRPC, WebSockets, and REST.
• Develop data models and migrations across relational, NoSQL, and analytical stores (MySQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse, Redis).
• Build container-based, event-driven services and asynchronous processing pipelines.
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, platform, and embedded teams to shape API contracts and integration patterns.
• Instrument services for observability and embed secure coding practices throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Deep experience in Golang, API design, backend architecture, and distributed systems.
• Proven experience with AWS and observability tools such as Sentry and Grafana.
• Hands-on familiarity with Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Solid competence in modeling data and optimizing queries for various database types.
• Higher education in a STEM field (BSc/MSc).
• Must be based in Norway or relocating from the EU/EEA with existing work authorization.
