What you will do

• Oversee and manage a broad portfolio of global disputes, including U.S. litigation, Hong Kong-seated arbitration, and cross-border commercial and IP disputes.
• Develop and execute litigation and arbitration strategies, including early case assessments, procedural strategy, and business-risk analysis.
• Manage outside counsel globally, supervising selection, scope, budget, and alignment with company objectives.
• Handle dispute resolution and regulatory inquiries, including responding to subpoenas and conducting settlement negotiations.
• Oversee and conduct legally privileged internal investigations, from defining scope to recommending remedial measures.
• Partner with HR and compliance teams to drive global best practices for policy enforcement and regulatory reporting.

Requirements

• Admitted and licensed attorney in the U.S., Hong Kong, Singapore, or another major common-law jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of relevant post-qualification experience in well-regarded law firms or in-house legal teams.
• Strong experience managing litigation and arbitration across jurisdictions, specifically U.S. litigation and/or Hong Kong-seated arbitration.
• Proven ability to manage outside counsel and collaborate with geographically dispersed teams.
• Ability to travel to multiple jurisdictions to manage disputes and conduct investigations.
• Must be based in or be able to work from Hong Kong, Singapore, or another Asia-Pacific hub (US/Canada considered for exceptional candidates).

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
• Prior in-house legal experience.
