TL;DR

Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer (Aerospace): Developing models, tools, and simulations for next-generation space systems with an accent on digital twins and high-performance space communications. Focus on building scalable simulation frameworks, validating models against operational data, and optimizing mission analysis tools.

Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Ontario. Relocation packages available for approved roles.

What you will do

  • Create reusable models, tools, and simulation frameworks to enable rapid analysis of mission concepts and payloads.
  • Model complex behaviors and interactions between spacecraft subsystems, payloads, ground systems, and operational concepts.
  • Develop simulation capabilities for optical imaging, RF, and communications payloads, as well as ISR missions.
  • Validate digital twins and models using real-world in-space operational data.
  • Build internal tools for documentation generation, CI testing, and automated data validation.
  • Optimize simulation performance and fidelity while providing technical training to tool users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of software development experience using modern engineering tools and practices.
  • Experience in the end-to-end life-cycle delivery of high-quality software from requirement gathering to support.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Must be based in or be able to relocate to Toronto, Ontario for hybrid work.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Proficiency in C++ and strong preference for Python.
  • Experience with orbital mechanics, space mission architectures, or flight software.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), HITL, or SITL testing.
  • Experience leveraging AI, machine learning, or LLM technologies in engineering workflows.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based simulation environments or distributed simulation frameworks.
