What you will do
- Create reusable models, tools, and simulation frameworks to enable rapid analysis of mission concepts and payloads.
- Model complex behaviors and interactions between spacecraft subsystems, payloads, ground systems, and operational concepts.
- Develop simulation capabilities for optical imaging, RF, and communications payloads, as well as ISR missions.
- Validate digital twins and models using real-world in-space operational data.
- Build internal tools for documentation generation, CI testing, and automated data validation.
- Optimize simulation performance and fidelity while providing technical training to tool users.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of software development experience using modern engineering tools and practices.
- Experience in the end-to-end life-cycle delivery of high-quality software from requirement gathering to support.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to multidisciplinary teams.
- Must be based in or be able to relocate to Toronto, Ontario for hybrid work.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- Proficiency in C++ and strong preference for Python.
- Experience with orbital mechanics, space mission architectures, or flight software.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), HITL, or SITL testing.
- Experience leveraging AI, machine learning, or LLM technologies in engineering workflows.
- Knowledge of cloud-based simulation environments or distributed simulation frameworks.
