HVAC Digital Design & AI Applications Developer (AI)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada — in-office position

Annual salary: $75,000–$90,000 CAD, commensurate with experience.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain custom Autodesk Revit applications, add-ins, and automation tools using C#, .NET, Python, and the Revit API.
• Support HVAC engineers with BIM workflows for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and other mechanical building systems.
• Design AI solutions for HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, clash detection, code compliance reviews, and design optimization.
• Create Dynamo and Python scripts, data pipelines, and integrations connecting Revit models with engineering databases, cloud platforms, and AI applications.
• Analyze engineering design data to identify process improvement and automation opportunities.
• Prepare technical documentation, user guides, and training materials while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Additional education or significant coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of HVAC systems, building services engineering fundamentals, Autodesk Revit, and BIM workflows.
• Programming experience in Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with databases, APIs, software development principles, analytical problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.
• Ability to work in the Toronto, Ontario office; little to no travel is required.

Nice to have

• 1–2 years of industry experience.
• Experience with the Revit API, Dynamo, Autodesk Platform Services, or BIM automation.
• Understanding of generative AI or data analytics.
• Experience with Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE 3D Plus, or energy modeling platforms.
