Principal Software Engineer (Nvidia Platform) (AI)

Location: Irving, Texas, United States; onsite five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants.

Salary: $147,760–$240,110 per year, plus potential incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Define end-to-end architecture and integration strategies for simulation platforms, digital twin systems, backend microservices, and APIs.
• Lead the design and delivery of scalable cloud-native services, integration adapters, and data and asset exchange systems.
• Establish service contracts, design patterns, and REST, gRPC, and event-driven integration standards across distributed systems.
• Review architectures, designs, code, APIs, and data contracts for reliability, performance, security, observability, and maintainability.
• Drive engineering excellence across testing, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness while mentoring engineers.
• Lead AI-assisted and agentic development workflows and collaborate with cross-functional and external teams on APIs and data exchange models.

Requirements

• Experience designing cloud-native microservices and distributed systems with REST, gRPC, or event-driven APIs.
• Strong backend development experience with Python or Java for production-grade APIs and platforms.
• Experience defining scalable integration architectures, service contracts, and observability patterns.
• Experience with simulation, the NVIDIA ecosystem, robotics, digital twins, or industrial automation platforms.
• Experience with AI-assisted or agentic development workflows, including validation of AI-generated code.
• Understanding of responsible AI practices and secure software development.

Nice to have

• Experience building production AI agents with Python and using LangChain or LangGraph.
• Experience integrating LLMs with external tools, APIs, databases, and retrieval systems.
• Experience designing evaluations, guardrails, and monitoring for agent reliability.
• Experience with multi-agent workflows, memory and context management, prompt optimization, latency reduction, cost control, MLOps, or model deployment.
