Principal Software Engineer (.NET Core)

Salary: $163,900–$270,883 per year, plus potential performance-based bonus and restricted stock unit awards.

What you will do

• Define and evolve architecture for HCM foundation services used across HR, Recruiting, Benefits, Pay, and related product teams.
• Drive technical decisions across shared services, APIs, data access patterns, platform libraries, build systems, and integrations.
• Build reusable platform capabilities, service contracts, secure APIs, event-driven patterns, and libraries that reduce duplicated work.
• Design systems for high availability, scalability, observability, security, auditability, correctness, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead architecture and design reviews, establish engineering standards, and guide modernization including .NET Core enablement and legacy dependency migration.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across multiple teams and cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years at senior, staff, or principal level.
• Deep experience designing and building distributed systems with .NET Core and modern backend architectures.
• Experience delivering large-scale, business-critical platform services, shared APIs, or foundational systems used by multiple product teams.
• Experience setting architectural standards, influencing technical direction, and driving adoption across teams or organizations.
• Ability to break ambiguous problems into clear technical designs and lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience applying AI-assisted engineering practices or productionizing intelligent capabilities with AI, ML, or data teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with HCM, workforce management, payroll, benefits, recruiting, or other regulated enterprise systems.
• Knowledge of anomaly detection, rule augmentation, model inference pipelines, or decision-support systems.
• Experience with compliance, auditability, data privacy, event-driven or hybrid processing architectures.
• Front-end experience supporting or integrating with Angular applications.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems or leading large-scale technical transformations.
