Lead Software Engineer (Autonomy Services)

Location: Irving, Texas, United States; onsite five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants.

Salary: $128,470–$208,770 annually

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of backend RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Provide architectural guidance, engineering direction, and hands-on problem solving for development and support groups.
• Own complex application and platform challenges from discovery through delivery, balancing speed, quality, security, and maintainability.
• Establish software quality practices through design reviews, code reviews, testing strategies, operational readiness, and reusable technical patterns.
• Lead AI-assisted and agentic software development practices, including repository guidance, validation standards, approval workflows, and secure development guardrails.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Agile teams to deliver business-value features across UI, API, and service layers.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot, designing and delivering RESTful APIs with microservices principles.
• Experience building and deploying secure, scalable backend services in cloud-native environments such as AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of software product architecture, integration engineering, interface design, and technical decision-making.
• Experience reviewing, validating, testing, and refining AI-generated code and pull requests for correctness, maintainability, performance, and security.
• Knowledge of responsible AI usage and secure coding practices in AI-assisted development.
• Must be based in Irving, Texas and work onsite five days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience building production AI agents with Python.
• Experience with LangChain or LangGraph.
• Experience integrating LLMs with external tools, APIs, databases, and retrieval systems.
• Experience designing evaluations, guardrails, monitoring, multi-agent workflows, and memory or context management.
• Experience with prompt optimization, latency and cost reduction, MLOps, or model deployment.
