Location: On-site in Los Angeles, CA. Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident to meet ITAR requirements.

Salary: $175,000 – $220,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Lead and grow a team of Build Engineers dedicated to specific customer programs.
• Own end-to-end NPI outcomes, from first article through qualification, ramp, and stabilized production.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Software, and Manufacturing Engineering to identify and resolve bottlenecks before they impact the floor.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues related to drawings, tolerances, tooling, and process flow.
• Coach and develop the engineering team, owning staffing and leveling decisions.
• Manage program-level manufacturability risk and drive mitigation plans to ensure schedule and quality.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years of experience in build, production, or manufacturing engineering, with hands-on NPI experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing or leading a team of engineers in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency (ITAR compliance) is mandatory.
• Ability to operate hands-on on the factory floor while managing high-level program priorities.
• Excellent communication skills to align technicians, engineers, and leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience in precision manufacturing, machining, or assembly within the aerospace and defense industries.
• Familiarity with ERP, MES, or PLM systems and digital work instructions.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Exposure to test engineering or materials and processes functions.
