Medical Assistant (Neurology)

What you will do

• Manage virtual patient rooming, gather clinical histories, and prepare documentation for neurology visits.
• Perform and accurately score standardized clinical assessments, including the Montreal Cognitive Assessment.
• Review medical records, lab results, and imaging reports to identify clinical gaps and support clinical decision-making.
• Coordinate diagnostic testing, medical records, referrals, infusion-center documentation, and imaging requirements for specialized programs and therapies.
• Support referrals for respite care and home safety assessments, recognize urgent issues, and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, care coordinators, and navigators while advocating for patients and caregivers across insurance, billing, and clinical needs.

Requirements

• 2–3 or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills.
• High technical fluency with computer-based work and videoconferencing tools.
• Reliable high-speed internet and a private, HIPAA-compliant remote workspace.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States; work visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Active Medical Assistant certification.
• 4–5 or more years of clinical Medical Assistant experience.
• Prior telemedicine or virtual care experience.
• Experience in a startup or rapidly changing organization.
• Specialized neurological patient care experience or strong interest in the field.
