What you will do

• Lead client-side commercial management for roads and bridges packages from design through to handover.
• Maintain ownership of cost plans, procurement, contract administration, change control, and risk forecasting.
• Coordinate commercial inputs across diverse stakeholders including contractors, statutory authorities, and internal teams.
• Provide commercial assurance for infrastructure works, including highways, bridges, earthworks, and utility interfaces.
• Administer NEC contracts, including managing early warnings, compensation events, and payment assessments.
• Ensure commercial solutions are robust, buildable, and aligned with programme objectives and governance standards.

Requirements

• Must have proven cost management or quantity surveying experience on major civil infrastructure or highways projects.
• Must be able to work on-site in Bedford at least three days per week.
• Strong financial management skills including cost planning, estimating, and cash flow forecasting.
• Practical experience with NEC forms of contract and change management.
• Understanding of UK infrastructure standards such as DMRB and local authority requirements.
• Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Civil Engineering preferred.
