Software Development Engineer (AWS): Designing, building, and evolving mission-critical applications using Agile methodologies with an accent on AWS-based solution development, Kubernetes-driven deployments, and high-quality, fault-tolerant software. Location: Herndon, VA; based in Chantilly with work at the Sponsor facility at least 3 days/week and 2 days remotely.

Salary: $83,500.00 - $208,750.00

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve applications using solid engineering principles and Agile methodologies.
• Develop and deploy solutions using AWS tools and services.
• Write high-quality software with tests, ensuring code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, and fault tolerant.
• Apply software process management and control throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support documentation, design, and process improvement activities.
• Collaborate in a small Agile team and lead small tasks with other technical resources.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience (or equivalent substitution with degree/advanced degree).
• Experience developing/deploying solutions using AWS.
• Experience working in a small team practicing Agile methodologies.
• Ability to analyze, design, and implement solutions autonomously for well-defined problems.
• Experience with CI/CD and software engineering practices for maintainability and reliability.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Cloud and AWS certifications.
• Experience improving operating time/efficiency and addressing accessibility concerns.
• Experience with tools such as Git, Selenium, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, React, Tailwind, TypeScript, JavaScript, NestJS, Scala, Akka, FluxCD, Playwright, or Go.
