Staff Program Manager (Aerospace): Leading end-to-end development and execution of mission-critical satellite systems programs from concept through operational success with an accent on program lifecycle management, risk mitigation, and cross-functional leadership. Focus on driving strategic initiatives, managing complex P&L, and ensuring delivery within budget and technical requirements.

Location: Must be based in Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid)

Salary: $142,962 - $192,960 CAD

What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end program management for space systems development, ensuring delivery on schedule and within budget.
  • Serve as the primary interface with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Own and manage all aspects of program scope, schedule, cost, and risk throughout the lifecycle.
  • Facilitate key programmatic and technical reviews, including design and production milestones.
  • Drive accountability across engineering and operations teams using data-driven performance metrics.
  • Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity and design quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 9+ years of experience in aerospace or electronic systems development, with 7+ years in program management.
  • Proven experience in overseeing system development from design to qualification and integration.
  • Strong practical use of Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
  • Experience supporting contract negotiations with major space agencies like CSA, ESA, NASA, or JAX.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for complex technical and programmatic reporting.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Previous experience in a technical leadership position.
  • Experience with systems engineering processes and optical systems.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with satellite subsystems or scientific instruments for space.
