TL;DR

Focus on translating requirements into functional designs, performing numerical simulations, and overseeing commissioning from concept to handover.

What you will do

  • Design fluid systems for test and launch facilities, including rocket engine, structure pressurization, and integrated stage testing rigs.
  • Perform sizing calculations and numerical simulations for cryogenic propellant storage, conditioning, and distribution systems.
  • Select and procure critical fluid hardware such as tanks, pumps, heat-exchangers, and pressure regulators.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, hardware lists, and datasheets.
  • Lead system design reviews and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate factory/site acceptance tests, commissioning planning, and support on-site launch campaigns.

Requirements

  • Degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in aerospace, mechanical, process/energy/chemical engineering or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics and their application to real hardware.
  • Basic knowledge of the design and operation of high-pressure gas and cryogenic liquid systems for rocket facilities.
  • Strong analytical skills to solve complex thermodynamic engineering problems.
  • English: Fluent (C1) proficiency required.
  • Location: Must be based in Ottobrunn, Germany.

Nice to have

  • Experience with fluid simulation software such as EcosimPro, Python, or Matlab.
  • Hands-on experience with piping assembly, commissioning, or testing operations.
