System Engineering Manager Space System Studies (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead system engineering activities for Phase A/B1 space system studies.
• Coordinate technical contributions from specialist engineering departments and subcontractors.
• Define mission and system architectures through trade-offs and high-level analyses.
• Derive, validate, and maintain requirements from mission level through satellite and subsystem levels.
• Establish development approaches and programme plans covering later development phases through in-orbit commissioning, calibration, and validation.
• Assess cost drivers and technical/programmatic risks, and implement mitigation measures.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in aerospace engineering with a focus on space systems.
• At least 8 years of industry experience in space systems engineering or satellite development.
• Strong experience in space mission design, satellite systems engineering, and spacecraft subsystem design.
• Experience with spacecraft requirements engineering and specification preparation.
• Familiarity with science, exploration, or space safety mission concepts.
• Business English fluency is required; German is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Experience as a lead system engineer for Phase 0/A/B1 projects and industry or institutional proposals.
• Hands-on experience with MBSE toolchains and methodologies.
• German language fluency.
