Senior Engineer, Software Test (Python)

Location: Shugart, Singapore; occasional ad-hoc operational support at the Woodlands site.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based scripts in a Linux environment for manufacturing operations and product quality.
• Improve test processes by reducing test time and optimizing workflows.
• Collaborate with test, process, and manufacturing engineers across hirify.global locations to execute projects and solve technical problems.
• Resolve software issues and maintain system uptime and test efficiency.
• Set up and maintain laboratory testers, including software and operating system updates.
• Refactor, upgrade, and validate legacy code, and support the HDD Auto Disposition system for failed-drive analysis and rework disposition.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of hands-on software and firmware development experience; fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and SQL.
• Proficiency with Linux OS, custom kernel builds, Kickstart installations, and RPM/Yum package management.
• Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Ability to work at Shugart, Singapore, with ad-hoc support at the Woodlands site.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools.
• Interest in HDD technologies, manufacturing processes, and storage system fundamentals.
