What you will do
- Design, optimize, and implement HTS-compatible biochemical and cell-based assays with automation integration.
- Execute plate-based HTS campaigns and interpret complex experimental datasets to support AI/ML design cycles.
- Troubleshoot assay performance, instrumentation, and reagent issues in partnership with automation colleagues.
- Contribute to multiple therapeutic programs, specifically focusing on ion channel, GPCR, and ADC-related assays.
- Maintain rigorous scientific records in electronic laboratory notebooks and prepare summaries for cross-functional meetings.
Requirements
- PhD in Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related field; or MSc + 4 years experience; or BSc + 6 years experience.
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and plate-based assay workflows in a research setting.
- Proficiency with ELISA, HTRF, AlphaLISA, luminescence/fluorescence assays, or flow cytometry.
- Familiarity with high-throughput or medium-throughput screening (HTS) workflows and multiwell plate formats.
- Ability to analyze and present data using tools like GraphPad Prism, Spotfire, or similar platforms.
- Must be based in or able to work onsite in Somerville, MA.
Nice to have
- Experience with ion channel assays, GPCR assays, or ADC-related functional readouts.
- Experience with lab automation systems (e.g., HighRes, Beckman Biomek, Hamilton).
- Experience working with primary cells or stable cell line generation.
- Interest in applying functional biology to AI/ML-enabled therapeutic discovery.
