Energy Conservation Engineer (Engineering): Developing and implementing energy conservation measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the Vancouver campus with an accent on building automation systems (BMS) and mechanical/electrical retrofits. Location: Must be based at the Vancouver Campus, BC, Canada
Compensation: $9,320.17 – $14,537.58 CAD Monthly

What you will do
- Design, implement, and manage Demand Side Management projects from concept to completion.
- Optimize building automation systems (BMS) by reading and writing sequences of operation and control code.
- Conduct building audits and peer reviews of engineering designs and specifications.
- Perform data collection, energy modeling, and measurement and verification (M&V) analysis.
- Develop funding proposals and manage relationships with external consultants and utility providers.
- Provide technical expertise for climate plans, green building initiatives, and sustainability reporting.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
- Minimum of seven years of related experience in technical fields, project coordination, and cost control.
- Eligibility for professional registration (e.g., P.Eng with EGBC).
- Strong proficiency in building electrical systems, HVAC, and controls programming.
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage budgets and personnel.
- Excellent analytical skills and experience with data modeling (Excel).
Nice to have
- Master of Engineering, MEL, or MSc degree.
- CEM (Certified Energy Manager) or CMVP (Certified Measurement and Verification Professional) certification.
- Experience with Skyspark data analytics.
- Knowledge of current energy and climate policy.
