What you will do

• Operate and maintain regulated mechanical equipment (e.g., boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, air receivers) under the PEBPVRSR.
• Perform regulatory inspections and assessments, maintaining accurate maintenance records and operational logbooks.
• Carry out routine maintenance on mechanical systems and components (e.g., pumps, compressors, belt drives, air filters) and support emergency generator testing.
• Use Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor performance, identify malfunctions, and start/stop local and remote equipment as directed.
• Handle service and emergency calls: assess repairs, render equipment/systems safe, and take action per the Emergency Communication Protocol.
• Monitor mechanical equipment rooms for general condition and address housekeeping and potential safety hazards.

Requirements

• BC 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate of Competency.
• 3–5 years of experience in a building mechanical systems environment.
• Valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license.
• Knowledge of building operations (BAS, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, etc.).
• Knowledge of Windows-based software.
• Ability to work safely with close attention to mechanical issues that can impact safety, finances, and service continuity.
