Lead Energy Technician (Energy Efficiency)

Location: Must live in or within a reasonable commuting distance from the Flint, Michigan area

Salary: $23/hr

What you will do

• Perform on-site inspections of residential homes for insulation, air sealing, and HVAC equipment.
• Install basic energy-efficient upgrades and equipment for residential customers.
• Educate utility customers on Energy Waste Reduction and provide technical advice.
• Maintain company vehicle and equipment while traveling within a defined territory.
• Provide status updates to program staff regarding project scope and effectiveness.

Requirements

• Must reside in or near Flint, Michigan to be within commuting distance of the territory.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required for use of company van.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 10 feet and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of relevant industry experience preferred.

Nice to have

• Associate's Degree with relevant industry technical certification or training.
• BPI Certification.
• Knowledge or interest in home construction and HVAC equipment.
