Data Architect

Location: Hybrid, with two days per week in the office in Manchester or Milton Keynes, United Kingdom

Salary: £72,000–£80,000 in Manchester; £75,000–£80,000 in Milton Keynes

What you will do

• Create data models, data dictionaries, data flow diagrams and other architecture artefacts across the assessment technology estate.
• Translate business capabilities and stakeholder needs into data requirements, architectural direction and data roadmaps.
• Define and maintain data strategy policies, guidelines, standards and governance controls.
• Work with Solution Architects, Product Managers and development teams to deliver approved domain data models across products and microservices.
• Ensure data integrity, security, retention and compliant handling in collaboration with data protection and security specialists.
• Mentor team members, support product delivery and influence innovation and change across the organisation.

Requirements

• Experience producing and managing domain-level data models and related architecture documentation.
• Experience transforming discrete service-domain data models into cohesive multi-service models.
• Knowledge of domain-driven design, data consistency, data storage technologies and microservice-based architectures.
• Awareness of data governance frameworks, standards, policies, procedures, security and retention requirements.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, logical problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Computing degree, equivalent business computing experience or relevant professional accreditation.
