Senior Enterprise Architect (Markets and Investments)

Location: Hybrid, with 40% or two days per week in London, Edinburgh or Bristol office sites, United Kingdom

Salary: £92,701–£109,060 per year

What you will do

• Lead enterprise architecture for the Markets and Investment Banking area and own architectural decisions within the remit.
• Design target architectures and guide strategic roadmaps for the Markets platform.
• Lead a small team while guiding, challenging, and supporting Markets teams.
• Represent business priorities when working with Group Enabling Platforms and technology delivery teams.
• Build relationships with internal platforms, business functions, and third-party vendors.
• Shape business propositions, vendor products, and industry partnerships for Commercial clients.

Requirements

• Extensive architecture experience in Markets or Investment Banking.
• Strong experience shaping, influencing, and leading architectural outcomes in a mid-sized or large organisation.
• High-level understanding of cloud architecture; Azure is used, with AWS or GCP experience also relevant.
• Technology knowledge covering domain-driven design, APIs, event-based and microservices architectures, hybrid cloud, DevOps, CI/CD, modern data paradigms, cybersecurity, resilience, and sustainability.
• Experience with architectural forums, complex organisations, large customer bases, non-functional requirements, and systems design.
• Strong leadership, communication, storytelling, collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or GCP in addition to Azure.
• Awareness of emerging technologies such as GenAI and their potential business applications.
