QA Tester (Game Development)

Location: Onsite in Dundee, Scotland; must have the right to work in the United Kingdom

hirify.global is a small, multi-disciplinary game development studio creating games including the upcoming title Reforj.

What you will do

• Execute test plans according to the schedule set by the Lead QA and identify bugs throughout development.
• Create detailed bug reports to help the software team reproduce and resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain test suites to ensure full project test coverage.
• Manage game testing hardware for internal testing, playtests, and feature reviews.
• Provide feedback to game designers, artists, and software developers to improve playability, stability, and entertainment value.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team dynamic.

Requirements

• Demonstrable knowledge of software QA processes and best practices.
• Interest in game development and game hardware, with an understanding of game industry terminology, tools, processes, and production methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate with game designers, artists, programmers, and senior management in a creative environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for current PC and console games and game hardware.
• Relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent relevant education.
• Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom and be willing to work onsite in Dundee, Scotland.

Nice to have

• Relevant software QA testing experience, preferably with PC or console games.
• Practical experience with game engines.
• Experience with QA tools and bug databases such as JIRA or Azure.
