TL;DR

Metallurgist (Foundry): Supporting metallurgy, quality, and process control at a manufacturing facility with an accent on melting and heat treatment processes. Location: Must be based in Merlimau or within practical commuting distance and have the current legal right to work in Malaysia.

What you will do

  • Provide technical support for melting, heat treatment, and other metallurgical processes.
  • Review inspection and test results to ensure products meet customer and technical specifications.
  • Investigate non-conformances and product failures to recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues and support material selection.
  • Maintain quality procedures, process controls, and Quality Management System requirements.
  • Participate in Gemba, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Requirements

  • Degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in a foundry or metals manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of melting, heat treatment, and material properties.
  • Experience in process control, product inspection, and non-conformance analysis.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and prepare clear reports and documentation.
  • Current legal right to work in Malaysia and ability to attend the Merlimau site daily.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar improvement methods.
