Salary: $175,000 – $200,000

What you will do

• Design and own the Insights semantic layer to ensure consistent, trusted metrics across the business.
• Standardize core metric definitions and reconcile data across sources like Amplitude.
• Migrate production report logic into governed, tested, and portable dbt models.
• Improve pipeline reliability through proactive monitoring, alerting, and resilience to schema changes.
• Contribute to the design of a Kimball-style dimensional warehouse serving both BI and LLM-based analytics.
• Partner with internal teams and customers on data quality, triage, and new environment launches.

Requirements

• Must be based in San Francisco, CA
• 4+ years of experience in a modern data stack with advanced SQL and deep hands-on dbt expertise.
• Production-quality Python skills and experience with version control and CI.
• Strong dimensional modeling skills (Kimball, slowly changing dimensions).
• Deep experience with BigQuery and cloud data warehousing, including performance optimization.
• Strong judgment for data quality and validation.

Nice to have

• Generalist background as a data engineer, software engineer, or data scientist.
• Experience feeding LLM or AI-native data interfaces.
• BI migration experience (Looker, Omni, Tableau).
• Experience in regulated domains where correctness is non-negotiable.
