TL;DR

Legal Counsel (Legal): Providing comprehensive legal support for digital ventures and media platforms with an accent on commercial contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property. Focus on advising internal business units, managing external counsel, and ensuring legal alignment across international territories.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Belfast, Northern Ireland (Hybrid)

What you will do

• Advise internal business clients on legal issues for digital platforms and ventures operating internationally.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and software licensing agreements.
• Assess legal implications of emerging technology products and ensure compliance with data protection, privacy, and platform regulations.
• Provide legal guidance on marketing activities, promotions, and website terms and conditions.
• Support business growth through due diligence and research on international legal requirements.
• Manage external counsel resources and collaborate with internal specialist teams on security, IP, and corporate matters.

Requirements

• Must be a Qualified Solicitor with up to three years of post-qualification experience.
• Demonstrable experience in a commercial environment advising on contracts, IP, and litigation.
• Knowledge of data protection and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Experience collaborating across multiple functions in a matrixed environment.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Belfast office (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Experience working in a global company with international subsidiaries in the SaaS industry.
• Understanding of Payments/Financial Service Regulations.
• Knowledge of Competition/Anti-trust law.
