BI Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; or Toronto, ON. Work up to three days per week in the office and remotely on the remaining days.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, scorecards, executive reports, semantic models, and datasets.
• Create and optimize complex DAX measures, KPIs, calculations, and business logic.
• Establish Power BI development standards, governance processes, and reporting best practices.
• Partner with business stakeholders and data warehouse engineers to define requirements, metrics, and actionable analytics.
• Monitor report performance, refresh processes, adoption metrics, data quality, and validation results.
• Identify and implement AI and generative AI use cases that improve analytics workflows and user productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing and developing business intelligence solutions, including 4+ years of hands-on Power BI experience.
• Advanced expertise in DAX, Power Query, and Power BI semantic modeling.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing concepts, and analytical data structures.
• Proficiency in SQL, dashboard testing and validation, and troubleshooting reporting solutions.
• Effective communication with technical and business audiences, strong analytical skills, and experience using AI tools in analytics workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, dbt, and modern cloud data platforms.
• Familiarity with Python for analytics and automation.
• Experience with AI-driven insights, forecasting, anomaly detection, or natural language analytics.
• Understanding of responsible AI, data governance, and data privacy best practices.
