What you will do

• Build and ship production-ready UI components using React and TypeScript, prioritizing performance and scalability.
• Develop and maintain a living design system, ensuring design tokens and component libraries remain in sync with code.
• Prototype novel interactions and data visualizations, including live sensor feeds and event timelines, to pressure-test product proposals.
• Implement high-fidelity features like map interfaces and radar overlays that preserve design intent in high-density data environments.
• Conduct user research to translate complex maritime workflows into intuitive, performant user journeys.
• Establish and enforce accessibility standards and responsive design practices across the front-end repository.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product design, UI/UX engineering, or front-end design engineering.
• Deep fluency in HTML, CSS/Tailwind, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript with hands-on React experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, auto-layout, and token management.
• Strong visual design foundation with experience designing for dense, operationally critical environments.
• Experience building geospatial or map-based interfaces, including comfort with Canvas/WebGL rendering.
• Ability to translate complex data workflows into simple, intuitive interfaces.

Nice to have

• Experience designing for defense, maritime, aviation, or other mission-critical domains.
• Background in designing for data visualization or real-time monitoring systems.
• Experience with motion design or advanced layout automation.
