What you will do

• Lead underwriting activities to meet profitability, growth, and risk management objectives.
• Partner with the AVP of Actuarial and Underwriting to adopt innovative processes and automation.
• Translate market intelligence and portfolio analysis into actionable strategies for sales and client retention.
• Implement work structures and processes to optimize departmental efficiency.
• Develop and mentor managers to enhance team engagement and professional growth.
• Drive innovation by originating new underwriting concepts and approaches.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Finance, or Administration.
• 10+ years of group underwriting experience.
• 5-10 years of relevant management experience.
• English proficiency is required for daily collaboration with teams outside Québec.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Windows and Excel.

Nice to have

• GBA, CEBS, AICA, FCIA, CPA, or MBA designations.
• Bilingualism (English/French).
