Location: Must be based in the UK (Leeds, Manchester, or Birmingham) with a hybrid working model (3 days in office, 2 days from home).

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop the newly formed Underwriting Enablement Team.
• Maintain and monitor underwriting governance standards, controls, and delegated authorities.
• Review and approve non-standard endorsements and support regulatory compliance.
• Analyze underwriting data and provide governance reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Build processes, structure, and operating models for the new function.
• Partner with Product Line Leaders and Pricing teams to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK with the ability to work from Leeds, Manchester, or Birmingham.
• Significant experience in underwriting, technical broking, or insurance governance.
• Strong technical underwriting knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, or leading teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and analytical abilities.
• Proactive mindset with an interest in leveraging technology and AI for process improvement.

Nice to have

• ACII qualification or progression towards completion.
• Product experience in Financial Lines, Liability, or Commercial insurance.
