What you will do

• Identify, analyze, and remediate vulnerabilities across Linux, VMware, and containerized environments.
• Apply security best practices to cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure.
• Guide customers through the Security Impact Analysis (SIA) process to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate security requirements into automated workflows.
• Maintain security documentation, architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
• Support secure data ingestion and access controls for the VA Data Lake.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in Cybersecurity or IT.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Strong understanding of NIST, RMF, or FedRAMP frameworks.
• Experience with cloud security tools and identity management in AWS or Azure.
• Ability to communicate complex security requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or Azure Security Engineer.
• Experience with Databricks security models and data lake access controls.
• Familiarity with federal government environments, specifically the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
