Cloud Architecture, Security, FinOps and Automation SME (Cloud Security)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; Columbus, Ohio is listed as the company location. US work authorization and the ability to obtain and maintain a US Department of Defense Secret security clearance are required.

What you will do

• Advise DLA on cloud architecture, hosting models, modernization, resource sizing, performance, resilience, and cloud-native capabilities across Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud, and Google Cloud.
• Develop architecture blueprints, diagrams, implementation strategies, operational documentation, and monthly architecture and cost-analysis reports.
• Apply FinOps practices to analyze utilization, right-size resources, consolidate services, improve forecasting, and identify cost savings and avoidance.
• Assess cloud environments against Cloud SRGs, NIST controls, FedRAMP methods, DoDIN requirements, Zero Trust principles, SCCA requirements, and approved guardrails.
• Support RMF documentation, Authority to Operate activities, security policies and plans, compliance reporting, change requests, implementation plans, and configuration-control meetings.
• Design automated cloud and DevOps workflows, maintain automation scripts and dashboards, and mentor Government personnel in architecture, security, FinOps, and automation.

Requirements

• Active Department of Defense Secret clearance required, with a favorable Tier 5 investigation required for a Critical Sensitive / IT-I position.
• At least five years of relevant Certification and Accreditation or Assessment and Authorization experience.
• DoD-approved 8570 / 8140 cybersecurity certification with IAT Level II or IAT Level III qualification.
• Active Certified Cloud Security Professional certification and a current Azure, AWS, or other DLA-approved cloud computing environment certification.
• Strong experience with RMF, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP assessment methodology, DoD cybersecurity, control assessments, and authorization reviews.
• Experience with enterprise cloud platforms, FinOps analysis, DevOps or Infrastructure as Code, automation, scripting, and security and architecture documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zero Trust, Cloud SRGs, SCCA, Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, DevOps pipelines, SharePoint, ServiceNow, and cloud cost-management tools.
