Software Security Engineer (Cloud/GovCloud)

Location: Remote within the United States; access from foreign locations and foreign IP addresses is blocked. Quarterly travel to an office or client site may be required. Core work hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with flexibility to start earlier or work later.

Salary: $81,499–$138,549 annually

What you will do

• Monitor and assess application and system security to identify vulnerabilities and threats.
• Conduct secure code reviews, static and dynamic analysis, and vulnerability assessments.
• Test security tools, applications, and configurations for compliance with federal and Department of Defense requirements.
• Investigate and remediate vulnerabilities, implementing corrective actions to reduce risk.
• Design and implement security controls, tools, and automation across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Guide development teams on secure coding and DevSecOps, maintain security documentation, and deliver briefings to government stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret security clearance
• 2+ years of experience in application security, secure software development, or cybersecurity engineering.
• Experience with AWS cloud platforms and secure federal cloud environments such as AWS GovCloud.
• Hands-on experience with secure code reviews and SAST, DAST, and SCA tools.
• Knowledge of OWASP, NIST, and Department of Defense STIGs.
• Clear written and verbal English communication and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Experience supporting systems in regulated or high-security environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
