Senior Platform Security Engineer (Web3)

TL;DR

Senior Platform Security Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes): Building and maintaining security controls for cloud and container orchestration systems with an accent on infrastructure hardening and IAM. Focus on designing secure-by-default infrastructure, developing internal security tools, and ensuring least-privilege access across the stack.

Location: Hybrid: Must be based in New York, NY (in-person twice a week)

Salary: $140,000 - $200,000

What you will do

• Build and maintain security controls for AWS and Kubernetes (EKS), including guardrails and container scanning.
• Design and manage IAM initiatives, RBAC models, and identity governance workflows.
• Develop and operate production-grade internal security services and platforms.
• Collaborate with AppSec, Threat Detection, and GRC teams to identify and reduce risks.
• Act as a security partner to engineering teams to enable secure architecture decisions.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for platform security incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Information Security, SRE, or Systems Engineering.
• Strong software development skills in Python or Go for building production services.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (IAM, VPCs) and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
• Deep understanding of IAM principles and least-privilege access models.
• Must be based in New York, NY and able to work from the office twice a week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Okta, SAML, and OIDC.
• Experience writing Policy-as-Code (OPA/Rego).
• Background in Linux systems engineering or network security.
• Experience operating high-availability critical systems.
