What you will do

• Plan and produce program material with minimal editorial supervision.
• Generate timely and well thought-out interview ideas and book guests.
• Support cross-platform strategies and collaborate with stakeholders throughout the booking process.
• Produce the Newsmakers audio podcast and write news and program copy.
• Work in the field with reporters and hosts, including live coverage direction.
• Maintain orderly control rooms and internal relationships across hirify.global platforms.

Requirements

• Location: Must work on-site in Washington, DC.
• At least four years of radio production or booking experience.
• At least two years of editorial decision-making experience with strong news judgment.
• Ability to work varied shifts and handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of politics and familiarity with world news, business, science, and arts.
• Excellence in news writing, copy-editing, and understanding of journalistic ethics.

Nice to have

• Experience coordinating news coverage under deadline pressure.
• Knowledge of public radio systems and digital/multimedia production.
• Familiarity with social media platforms.
