Director Analytics Engineering (AI): Leading the data engineering group to build a certified data foundation and semantic layer for AI-driven decision making with an accent on data modeling and platform transition. Focus on migrating transformation logic, establishing governed data dictionaries, and implementing RAG patterns for AI readiness.

Location: Remote (USA); however, candidates within 45 miles of Westlake/Dallas, TX are expected to work on-site Tuesday through Thursday.

Salary: $167,200 – $220,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and grow the Analytics Engineering team, setting technical direction and engineering standards.
• Own a unified data transformation and model spanning both product/behavioral and enterprise GTM/finance data.
• Establish a certified contextual layer (metrics store and data dictionary) to ensure reliable and safe data access for AI.
• Drive the migration of transformation logic from integration/middleware tools into governed models.
• Partner with Data Architecture and Governance teams to plan and execute cross-functional initiatives.
• Operate as a player-coach by writing and reviewing SQL and dbt code to solve the most complex technical problems.

Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years of related experience (or 8+ years with an advanced degree).
• Must be based in the USA.
• Hands-on expertise in data curation, transformation, and dimensional/medallion modeling using Snowflake and dbt.
• Experience leading senior and principal engineers through significant architecture or platform transitions.
• Technical depth in AI implementation, including RAG patterns or natural-language analytics.
• Strong grasp of data warehousing architecture and company-wide data governance standards.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with high-performance OLAP serving layers such as ClickHouse.
• Experience in PII classification and schema/version control within a data governance framework.
