What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of software and platform-leaning data engineers.
• Own the vision, roadmap, and developer experience for the data platform.
• Build backend services, APIs, and CI/CD frameworks to enable self-service data ingestion.
• Design and implement Pipeline-as-a-Service (PaaS) infrastructure.
• Develop CLIs and SDKs to minimize onboarding friction for engineering teams.
• Drive the transition from manual ETL builds to automated, reusable code frameworks.

Requirements

• Must be based in Birmingham, AL, Minneapolis, MN, or San Francisco, CA.
• 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevOps.
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing technical engineering teams.
• Strong background in backend software architecture, microservices, and API development (Python, Go, or Java).
• Proven track record of managing enterprise-grade CI/CD automation pipelines and Git-driven infrastructure deployment.
• Deep technical familiarity with cloud data infrastructure (Snowflake, Kafka, Airflow, or GCS).
