Principal Software Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Deliver technical development, support, and maintenance for customer-facing and internal web applications.
• Lead the development of robust and resilient solutions within an autonomous squad.
• Champion engineering standards, define technical standards with Architecture, and promote modern technologies.
• Own technical debt, support prioritization with Product, and deliver continuous improvements.
• Coach and mentor engineers, provide feedback, and strengthen team performance.
• Advocate testing practices and lead the rollout of test automation.

Requirements

• More than 10 years of experience delivering IT development projects.
• More than 3 years of experience as a Technical Lead within a development team.
• Strong experience with Java up to version 21, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Batch.
• Experience with Java web applications, Tomcat or WebSphere, Apache, and Nginx.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Concourse, Git, GitLab, and Octopus.
• Knowledge of stored procedures and databases including MSSQL, DB2, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, plus Scrum, Kanban, pair programming, and TDD.

Nice to have

• Experience with Selenium, JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock, Karma, or Jasmine.
• Knowledge of REST/JSON APIs, Swagger, HATEOAS, Maven, Ant, Unix, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, or the ELK stack.
