Salary: $184,500.00–$258,000.00 (potential to increase up to $295,000.00)

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve scalable, reliable services including system design, low-level design, API design, and data modeling.
• Lead technical design and delivery of complex, multi-quarter initiatives across InsurTech systems (shopping, booking, servicing, claims).
• Own features end-to-end: implementation, deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement in production.
• Write, review, and maintain high-quality, well-tested code while driving best practices in security, observability, resilience, and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and raise engineering standards through technical mentorship and community-of-practice leadership.
• Integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions in production and partner with product and analytics to define success metrics and improve outcomes.

Requirements

• Must be based in Seattle, WA and work in the office at least three days a week.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience leading end-to-end technical design and delivery across the full software development lifecycle.
• Deep expertise in modern programming languages plus strong system design, API design, and data modeling skills.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and microservices in cloud environments.
• Experience safely integrating and operating AI/ML-enabled solutions in production-grade software.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree with 6+ years of software development experience.
• Experience designing multi-service architectures at scale with resiliency, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with data-driven decision making using logging, monitoring, and analytics.
• Depth in distributed systems, data-intensive services, recommendation systems, or full-stack applications.
