Salary: $114,000 - $126,000 a year

What you will do

• Assist with planning, coordinating, processing, and expediting construction and repair projects for schools and administrative facilities.
• Act as a liaison among project management units, maintenance and operations, environmental consultants, and abatement contractors.
• Review RFAs and project drawings with technical staff to define scope of work; prepare funding request packages and coordinate funding reviews with accounting.
• Plan and track project progress, including monitoring and reporting labor charges; request and evaluate cost proposals from environmental consultants.
• Estimate and manage costs for asbestos and lead abatement; initiate and administer abatement and related contracts (e.g., Task Order, JOC).
• Review contractor submittals, daily logs, and certified payroll for invoice approval; analyze scope changes and support change orders, closeout, and bid/contract awards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or environmental (or equivalent experience on a year-for-year basis).
• Minimum 3 years of full-time paid professional experience in project/construction management across all phases, including pre-construction, monitoring, and closeout.
• Experience preferably in educational facility construction or public agency projects.
• Ability to work onsite at the client site.

Nice to have

• Experience with safety construction protocols, Cal OSHA requirements, and environmental procedures.
• Experience using Asset and Work Management system (Maximo).
