Field Service Technician I (Fremont / Santa Clara, CA) (Medical Instruments)

Location: Fremont and Hayward, California, United States; in-person presence is required at customer and healthcare sites.

What you will do

• Repair, clean, refurbish, sharpen, maintain, and test precision surgical instruments.
• Diagnose technical errors and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Manage on-site repairs, maintenance, equipment, work orders, and customer reports.
• Build positive customer relationships and make recommendations based on customer requirements.
• Collaborate with senior technicians, sales teams, and technical teams to support assigned territories.
• Maintain a clean work area and comply with applicable ISO and FDA regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Computer knowledge and clear communication skills required.
• Ability to read safety, operating, maintenance, and procedure documentation and write routine reports.
• Ability to solve problems in standardized situations and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Availability for occasional overtime and changes in shift scheduling based on customer needs is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with machining or handling delicate metal instruments.
• Technical degree.
