Mechanic/Operator (Energy)

TL;DR

Mechanic/Operator (Energy): Install, repair, and operate district energy plant equipment including high-pressure boilers and chillers with an accent on system reliability and safety. Location: Onsite in Kansas City, MO, USA

Compensation: $30.84–$40.42 per hour plus 10% bonus target

What you will do

• Install, repair, and maintain chillers, steam turbines, HP boilers, and distribution systems.
• Perform chemical analysis on boiler water and execute precision alignment and measurement.
• Monitor equipment to identify problem areas and develop resolutions for failures.
• Conduct predictive and preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, and turbines.
• Manage logs of plant operations and ensure compliance with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
• Provide on-the-job training for new employees and coordinate daily activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in pipe fitting and steam plant maintenance (boilers, turbines, pumps).
• Valid driver license in good standing.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver 100 lbs.
• Must qualify to wear a respirator and tolerate confined spaces.

Nice to have

• Navy nuclear experience.
• Technical trade school training.
• Ability to weld and pass site welding exam.
• Experience with boiler, power plants, or chilled water systems.
• Proficiency in rigging, hoisting, brazing, and cutting.
