What you will do
- Ensure integrity of high-availability network infrastructure and maintain maximum performance through design, implementation, and support.
- Apply network engineering concepts (availability, efficiency, redundancy, scalability, security) and drive continuous improvement of network and systems facilities.
- Use network monitoring tools to troubleshoot network/system outages, schedule updates, and collaborate on optimization.
- Provide remote site support for off-site personnel and customers; coordinate escalations and maintain detailed operational reports and documentation.
- Define KPIs for operational management and create/update network diagrams, training, and support materials.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians; act as subject matter expert and provide technical leadership for major complex projects.
Requirements
- Advanced level role requiring 10+ years of progressive IT engineering experience in telecommunications design and implementation, including complex project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technologies, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Expert understanding of high availability, redundancy, reliability, testing, security, and standards; ability to make independent technical decisions.
- Experience integrating technologies across multiple computing platforms and providing final design specifications for seamless operational integration.
- Ability to lead complex projects, manage budgets and timelines, and provide technical direction and mentoring.
- Must comply with remote work policies and agreements for virtual workers; may require occasional travel with access to reliable transportation.
