What you will do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for laboratory automation instrument coordination and communication.
• Coordinate with vendors to facilitate repair, maintenance, and calibration of lab instruments like sequencers and freezers.
• Generate and update AutoCAD drawings for instrument placement and lab space planning.
• Ensure all service documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to determine qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and preventive maintenance requirements.
• Schedule instrument downtime and manage supply orders to ensure lab equipment remains fit for purpose.

Requirements

• Must be based in San Carlos, CA
• AA/AS or BS/BA degree in biomedical engineering or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to lift 40lbs and perform physical tasks like squatting, bending, and reaching.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-changing environment.
• Professionalism and ability to comply with company policies and regulatory standards.

Nice to have

• Experience in laboratory automation or operating high-throughput instruments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and LIMS.
• Experience working in BSLI/BSLII laboratories and knowledge of OSHA/CDC biosafety guidelines.
• Knowledge of DNA isolation, PCR, cell culture, and next-generation sequencing.
