Technical Assistant

TL;DR

Technical Assistant (Underwriting Operations): Support underwriting operations by assisting with risk analysis, pricing, data management, documentation, and portfolio administration with an accent on accurate underwriting system entries and data quality reviews. Focus on collaborating across Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, Finance, and Catastrophe Modeling teams to ensure compliant, timely submissions and reporting.

Salary: $57,000 - $85,000 annually

What you will do

• Support the underwriting process through risk analysis, portfolio management, and underwriting-related business development and marketing activities.
• Assist underwriters with pricing, accumulation, and underwriting system maintenance.
• Help with deal pricing, structuring, and transaction execution.
• Provide underwriting support across accounting, documentation, reporting, and data management.
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of submissions, quotes, endorsements, risks, and transactions into underwriting systems.
• Perform data quality reviews and maintain complete documentation to support audit, compliance, and regulatory/statistical reporting.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the insurance or reinsurance industry.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and follow projects through to completion.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex information and apply sound judgment; comfortable working independently while collaborating with a team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field (preferred).
