What you will do

  • Act as a subject matter expert on methodology for key Group performance metrics including adjusted operating profit and Solvency II capital generation.
  • Support the quarterly production of Group results, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all reporting measures.
  • Assist in applying methodology for new products, segments, and transactions to ensure impacts are appropriately reflected.
  • Develop and challenge planning assumptions that feed into forecasts and the outturn process.
  • Draft narrative for semi-annual Business and Financial Reviews and quarterly trading updates for external and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide oversight and governance over actuarial methodology, working closely with the Methodology and Assumptions team.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or able to work from Edinburgh
  • Strong technical understanding of IFRS 17 and Solvency II reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting the production of Group-level financial and actuarial results.
  • Proven capability to produce high-quality written narratives for external and senior internal audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and explain outcomes clearly.
  • Ability to apply complex methodologies to new and evolving business activities.
