What you will do

• Provide effective actuarial oversight and challenge of third-party calculations, processes, and controls.
• Review and assess the quality, completeness, and appropriateness of actuarial outputs against internal and external standards.
• Support improvements in the control framework, including governance, documentation, and issue management.
• Develop a deep understanding of data flows and administration systems supporting legacy life and pension products.
• Identify and escalate risks, issues, and emerging themes with clear, evidence-based insights.
• Communicate complex technical matters to diverse audiences, including non-specialists.

Requirements

• Qualified Actuary (FIA / FFA or equivalent).
• Experience applying actuarial judgement within life insurance and/or pensions.
• Strong understanding of actuarial calculations for life and pension products.
• Ability to provide constructive challenge to internal stakeholders and external providers.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in Bristol or Edinburgh.

• Knowledge of data and control environments for life and pensions operations.
• Experience overseeing third-party service providers.
• Background in actuarial governance, risk management, or model assurance.
• Experience working with With-Profit policies.
