What you will do

• Own critical production services end-to-end, from design and code review through deployment and incident response.
• Profile, benchmark, and rewrite hot paths to eliminate bottlenecks as the platform scales.
• Design and build observability frameworks from scratch, including custom instrumentation and alerting logic.
• Define and enforce SLOs across platform services and build accountability feedback loops.
• Manage capacity planning and cost efficiency through infrastructure right-sizing and automation.
• Improve CI/CD systems and internal deployment tooling to increase developer velocity and safety.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience with a track record of maintaining production services.
• Production-grade proficiency in Go, Python, C++, or Rust.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and container orchestration expertise.
• Cloud platform fluency, specifically with AWS.
• Strong expertise in building observability stacks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Location: Must be based in NYC or San Francisco for on-site work

Nice to have

• Background at a company with a strong Production Engineering or software-focused SRE culture.
• Experience building platforms for AI/ML workloads or high-throughput document processing pipelines.
