What you will do

• Own and architect critical backend system components to solve complex customer needs.
• Develop a high-scale document build system for O(1) universal indexing across massive data volumes.
• Implement performance-tuning solutions to minimize latency and maximize throughput for millions of documents.
• Collaborate with product teams and designers to build personalized data views and integrations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience at a venture-backed startup or top technology firm.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go for building backend and API systems.
• Extensive experience with AWS and cloud platforms.
• Working knowledge of Kafka, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, and/or Redis.
• Must be based in or work on-site in NYC or San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience building agentic systems or LLM-enabled products.
• Active use of AI development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code).
