What you will do

• Manage end-to-end US and international payroll processing, including EOR populations, utilizing Rippling.
• Own global compliance across federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions, ensuring accurate tax filings and registrations.
• Administer employee benefit programs and lead annual 401(k) audit activities, including census preparation and testing.
• Handle payroll accounting tasks, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Coordinate the calculation and processing of employee bonuses and commissions in collaboration with Finance and Sales.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and develop internal control frameworks for payroll.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience with end-to-end operational ownership.
• Hands-on experience administering payroll specifically through Rippling.
• Proven track record managing both US (multi-state) and international payroll operations.
• Deep knowledge of payroll tax regulations, GAAP principles, and regulatory reporting.
• Experience coordinating with EOR providers, tax advisors, and external auditors.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
• Experience in high-growth SaaS or AI companies.
• Proficiency with global payroll platforms like Deel, Remote, Papaya Global, Oyster, Workday, or ADP.
• Experience with California and San Francisco specific compliance and business reporting.
