Software Engineer 1 (UK)

What you will do

• Design and implement product features aligned with technical strategy, quality standards, and functional requirements.
• Develop, test, release, maintain, and improve software throughout its full lifecycle.
• Participate in release planning, provide reliable estimates, and deliver work within agreed scope and quality expectations.
• Contribute to code reviews, daily standups, sprint ceremonies, and retrospectives.
• Participate in security reviews to support compliance with hirify.global security requirements and industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues as a first responder within the team.

Requirements

• Strong foundations in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, software design, and debugging.
• Experience writing code through academic projects, internships, personal projects, or open-source contributions.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems and reason through trade-offs.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Curiosity, continuous learning, and willingness to take ownership.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
